• Is this even real life right now?!

My book is officially available on Amazon for the whole world to read — to hear my baby’s story.

For those who don’t know, on November 14, 2009, Noah walked out our front door without us realizing. It happened to be the exact moment one of our closest friends was leaving the house. At the end of our driveway was a patch of rocks — and Noah, who was only two years old at the time, loved picking them up. He ended up behind an Expedition, and we had no idea.

This was before backup cameras were common, so there was truly no way for our friend to see that Noah was back there while reversing. It was a terrible, tragic accident.

Learning how to navigate life after losing a child is unbearable. But as painful as it was for me, Dihanna lost her baby brother — and at the time, her very best friend. She struggled with grief just like the rest of us.

I’ll never forget the hardest question I’ve ever had to answer. That night, after we returned home from the hospital, she asked, “Where is Noah?”

How do you explain to a four-year-old that their baby brother is never coming home?

Dihanna helped carry me through the darkest days of my life.

The Yellow Butterfly is our true story — a story of loss, love, and the hope we found in the middle of our deepest pain.

Writing and publishing this book has been a healing part of my journey. For any mom who has lost a child, the most comforting and honoring thing you can do is speak their child’s name. Knowing that so many people will be reading about Noah — and speaking his name — is the most heartwarming gift I could ever receive.

Please share this story with anyone who might need it. That is the greatest gift you could give me.

Thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart.

    Much love,

    Dihanna, Noah, and Cash’s mom

  • We are officially 90% funded with just $147 to go and 8 days left!

We’ve been praying so hard to reach this goal. There were moments when fear crept in, when I questioned whether I was worthy of this dream. But God… He is good. All the time.

This book has been on my heart for a long time, and I know it wouldn’t be possible without His guidance. I’ve prayed over every part of it.

Even though it was born from loss, the fact that so many people now know and speak Noah’s name gives me strength. Any parent who has lost a child knows how powerful and comforting it is to hear their name spoken aloud. I made a promise to never let his name go unspoken and this book is a big part of me keeping that promise.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for every donation, share, and word of encouragement. This book is not only part of my healing journey, but I pray it becomes a source of comfort for any child walking their own path through grief.

We’re so close. Let’s cross the finish line together. 💛

  • Wow — I’m completely blown away by all the love and support we received yesterday through donations and shares! 💛

We are now 40% funded 🙌🏼

We still need to raise $890 in the next 15 days to reach our goal.

If we don’t hit it by July 11th, all donations will be refunded, and we won’t receive any of the funds.

We’re so close — and I truly believe we can do this together!

If you haven’t donated yet, even $1 makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing the link helps more than you know.

Every bit of support brings us closer to donating The Yellow Butterfly to children who need comfort in their grief.

Thank you for helping bring this dream to life. 💛

Yellow butterflies became our sign that Noah was still near. Now, with the help of my talented sister-in-law and illustrator, Madelyn Dixson, I get to share that love and light with the world.

We’ve poured our hearts into every word and every illustration. 🦋
